About Simply Reviewed

You’re probably wondering what this website is all about.

It’s about, well… simple reviews.

The idea is to give you, the dear reader, the information you actually need, including the rather important question of whether I personally think something is worth buying or not, without turning every review into a 12,000-word essay on the history of injection-moulded plastic.

Just simply, reviewed.

Even though this website contains affiliate links, plastering them everywhere in the hope of earning a few euros, dollars, pounds or whatever else is not the sole purpose of Simply Reviewed.

I mostly do this as a hobby because I quite enjoy reviewing things and, perhaps even more importantly, I enjoy ranting about them. Although if a product manages to fail spectacularly in enough areas, it may end up being less “Simply Reviewed” and more “Complexly Ranted About”.

I also don’t particularly care what brands or manufacturers would like me to say about their products. If something is genuinely terrible, I am perfectly happy to say that I’d rather pull my fingernails out one by one than recommend buying it.

Equally, when something is genuinely excellent, I’m more than happy to give it the praise it deserves. The point is not to be negative for the sake of being entertaining. The point is to say what I actually think.

And one thing should be made particularly clear: I do not accept free products, payment for opinions, sponsored reviews or paid placements on this website.

If you’re a brand representative who was hoping otherwise, tough luck.

My recommendation is remarkably simple: make good products. If they’re good enough, good reviews have a funny habit of following. Who would have thought?

There is also the small matter of the 17 languages available on this website.

I speak Finnish, English and Swedish, plus a tiny amount of German and French depending on whether I’ve had a beer or two, or perhaps a glass of wine. I most certainly do not speak all 17 languages available here.

Translation and language tools are therefore used to help translate the site, because otherwise I would probably spend the next 50 years translating a single review. Those tools help with the language. They do not use the products, form the opinions or decide whether something gets praised or subjected to a several-paragraph rant.

So, to recap:

  • Simple reviews.
  • Honest recommendations.
  • Absolutely no holding back.
  • No paid opinions or free review products.
  • And if you’ve found something useful and decide to buy it, feel free to use one of the affiliate links. It helps support the site without costing you anything extra.

For the considerably less silly explanation of how reviews are produced, read the Review & Editorial Policy. For information about affiliate links and how they work, see the Affiliate Disclosure.

Yours,

Toni
